How to set up customized parameter?
Hi, I am working with Image Processor. It is very nice that you have the "Roughness" parameter for features, which is the convex hull area/feature area. But I wonder if it is possible to get convex hull perimeter also as a customized parameter, which
Quantitative measurement of cross-section SEM images
Dear all, I'm measuring cross-section SEM images of some particles and doing 2D surface outline (some irregular polygons) analysis with the help of MIPAR. It is quite a powerful and helpful tool. I do appreciate your effort and work. There is still something
How to get more information of convex hull during roughness measurement?
I'm measuring the surface roughness of particles by analyzing the Cross-section SEM images. In MIPAR, we can get a convex hull and its area, and then use the ratio of convex area and real area to represent roughness. I wonder if it is possible to get
FIB-SEM Tomography - Data Fusion
Hello, I've collected some FIB-SEM tomography datasets for characterization of corrosion of Molten Salt Reactor materials. I'm just now coming to understand how difficult data fusion from multiple channels can really be, and was wondering if what I'm
Measuring distance through circle centroid at multiple angles
I'm trying to use MIPAR to measure the diameter (distance through the centroid) of an approximate circle at multiple angles (2-5 degree increments). The circle perimeter is rough and has localized areas where erosion has caused material loss. I think
Mipar: Cleaning a blurry image
To whom it may concern: After zooming in on an image, are there tools to save it in that state and then "clean" the image as it would be blurry? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Regards, Gary
How to setup the Batch Processor for High Content Screening Datasets
Launch Batch Processor Load Recipe Add entire dataset Check 'Combine Channels' Specify number of channels per field Select Process Tutorial Video
Changing Measurement Units
Is there a way to change the units used for feature measurement? I processed an image and the feature area was measured in um^2, then when I ran it again a week later, the units were in mm^2 - I do not see an option to change them.
How to overlay multiple 3D reconstructions at once?
Is it possible to overlay 2 reconstructions (or layers) at the same time so they can visualized together?
Setting up Companion Images for Batch Processing
Background This is a brief tutorial on how to setup the Recipe and files for Batch Processing when working with a data set where each signal or data layer is saved in a separate image. Recipe Setup Use the Load Companion Image step to load in additional
Possible to recover recipe from previous session?
Is there a way to recover a recipe used for a previous session? Unfortunately, the recipe in question was saved over with edits, but I still have a session that used to original recipe and I am hoping I may be able to recover the recipe used from that
Bounding-Box Labeling, Training and Detection in MIPAR?
Recently, there's conversation at workplace to explore bounding-box detection of objects in photo-images. I understand that MIPAR's current DL technology is for pixel-level semantic segmentation. I wonder if MIPAR has plans to develop bounding-box labeling,
How to group objects by distance from edge of another object
Hi, I am trying to find a way to sort particles within a larger object in my image by how close they are to the edge of the object in which they are contained. For example, I have a square (with rough edges) and all the particles are within the square.
How to setup recipe for intensity mean measurement?
To generate the intensity mean on individual features in the image: Add steps to detect the features of interest Set this as a memory image (Memory>Set Memory Image) Call the channel of interest to use as reference (Color>Channel Operation) Set as a companion
Only Run Recipe within Area of Interest
Can you define a specific area of interest in which a recipe will only run?
Save Current Image with Manual Measurement
Is it possible to save the "current image" with the "measure distance" measurement on the image?
Recipe name
Simple thing, but in the Image Processor, it doesn't say the name of the most recently loaded recipe. And then, if you click on "save recipe" it asks you if you want to override the last saved recipe, without naming it!
Comments for recipes
Hi, Even in a simple program, I think it would be very helpful if we could add comments. i find I'm sometimes adding what seem like kludgy steps but there's a good reason for them, and in basically every programming language there's a facility for c
Measurements are grayed out
Hi! I´m using MIPAR and I can't access to the measurements options and I can't use the "measure features" options.
Intercept method - "Random" Lines
This is getting down to nuts and bolts a little bit here, but I'm trying to investigate the biases that different sampling methods have, and I'm curious. The algorithm that generates random lines for sampling object intercepts... How does it work? Related: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bertrand_paradox_(probability)
Gamma Prime Phase
The microstructure image I added calculates the nickel-based superalloy, gamma prime phases locally instead of calculating one by one. What should I do ? (recipe is gamma prime)
How to check the Precipitate of Nitride in Steel by using MIPAR
My specimen is tool steel after hot forging operation. After that in tool steel grain boundaries the enrichment of nitride like AlN & TiN. How can i check the precipitate in steel after metallography by using MIPAR.
Local thickness measurements
MIPAR's "Local thickness" measurements seem to only be calculated along the skeleton of a segmented region. This has the effect of weighting longer features and returning strange data for low aspect ratio objects. I would like to look at local thickness
Problem getting get size measurements
I'm trying to get simple size measurements on a FIB cross-section feature. In this case, I want the max width of the top feature, and both the min and max width of the bottom feature. Sometimes it works, as shown below, but sometimes the roughness between
Validation
Can MIPAR be fully validated and secured: data and system qualification, user logs, and most importantly - data lock-down? We are using the software with much success in our COVID vaccine efforts, but we need to secure data and track users for FDA regulated
Black background
I have a black background in my macros. I am new to MIPAR, I have the 3-month special student license. I would appreciate assistance with regards removing the black background and/or excluding it from pre-processing etc. I hope it makes sense what I am talking about. Any assistance and guidance would be appreciated. Please see attached. Ti6Al4V titanium chip from the turning process
MIPAR font issues
Hi. When I open MIPAR on one of my non-administrator accounts on my computer, some of the fonts come up jibberish. See my attached screenshots. This does not happen when I open it on my admin account of my computer. Also running the program as administrator does not fix the issue. Note, when MIPAR first launched after installing, it did not have this font issue. Further note, I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled MIPAR twice and the issue continues. Note, I have updated my graphics card driver.
